Cable lugs
Cable lugs are connection device used to connect terminal of cable with the terminal of electrical devices and also terminal of two different cable. It is also called Cable connector or cable anchor. Generally it is made up of Aluminum, Copper and Brass. The main function of cable lugs is to connect the incoming cable to electrical appliances, other cable, surface of mechanical equipment etc.
Cable lugs are used for connection of cables to terminal box where there must be a permanent connection, and where direct connection is inconvenient.
Tubular & Ring type lugs
The lugs is ring shape and it is used for house and industrial wiring of switch boards, MCBs, connection of electrical devices etc.
Pin type lugs
Generally, it is used for connection of cables to Relays and other electrical and electronics devices of control and indication cables.
Fork type or U type lugs
It has thin and long fork type structure so that it becomes easy and convenient to use.

Cable Glands
Cable glands are defined as ‘mechanical cable entry devices’ which are used in conjunction with cable and wiring for electrical, instrumentation & control, and automation systems, including lighting, power, data and telecoms.
The main functions of the Cable Gland are to act as a sealing and terminating device to ensure the protection of electrical equipment and enclosures, including the provision of:
Environmental protection
by sealing on the outer cable sheath, excluding dust and moisture from the electrical or instrument enclosure
Earth continuity
In this case cable glands may be tested to ensure that they can withstand an appropriate peak short circuit fault current.
Additional environmental sealing
at the cable entry point, maintaining the ingress protection rating of the enclosure with the selection of applicable accessories dedicated to performing this function.
Cable lugs
A cable is defined as a group of individually insulated wires (conductors) encased together in sheathing. Sheathing is a non-conducting material with protective properties to shield the conducting part of the wire/cable.
Cross sectional area of the conductor – sometimes called 'cable size' Given as mm², it describes the total cross-sectional area of the copper conductor. Cable will be sized 1 mm², 2 mm², 4 mm² etc. and may be written as 1 mm, 2mm, 4mm. This is not the diameter of the cable.
